Our Gastroenterology & Hepatology team cares for the full digestive system – the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas through a combined team of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and internal medicine specialists, backed by a modern endoscopy unit and non-invasive liver imaging.
Digestive and liver symptoms are common, and most are minor but some are early warning signs that shouldn’t be dismissed. Our approach is to tell the difference reliably: reassuring when that’s the right call, investigating properly when it isn’t, and never over-treating.
Fatty liver is common and often reversible in its early stages, but left unchecked it can progress to inflammation, fibrosis, and eventually cirrhosis. Early diagnosis and lifestyle change are the most effective response.
Hepatitis B can be effectively controlled with antiviral treatment, letting many patients lead full, normal lives, though a complete cure isn’t yet routine. Hepatitis C, by contrast, is now curable in most cases with a short course of oral medication.
Not always. Modern non-invasive tests like FibroScan and blood-based markers have reduced the need for biopsy, which is recommended only when it will meaningfully change the treatment plan.
An abnormal result doesn’t always mean serious disease, but it shouldn’t be ignored — a proper assessment will clarify what it actually means for you.
