LAB TEST

Good treatment starts with a Good diagnosis

The Diagnostics & Tests services at St. Stephen’s Hospital bring together radiology, imaging, pathology, and cardiac and pulmonary testing — all under one roof, in coordination with our clinical departments. Whether you need a routine blood test, an MRI for back pain, or a specialised cardiac scan, our team works to give you accurate results on time, with the diagnostic detail your doctor actually needs.

Reports are issued by qualified radiologists, pathologists, and specialists — not by technicians alone. Where a result is borderline or needs further work-up, your treating doctor is just a corridor away, not a different hospital. That coordination is the real difference.

Test Preparation

Many tests require specific preparation

Fasting, stopping certain medications, drinking water for ultrasound, and so on. Wrong preparation often means the test has to be repeated. Please read the test preparation guide for your specific test, or call us if you are unsure.

Reports & Turnaround

  • Most blood tests: same day
  • X-Ray: same day
  • MRI / CT scans: typically same day or next working day, depending on complexity
  • Biopsy / histopathology: 3 to 7 working days
  • Specialised tests (cultures, certain hormones): 3 to 10 working days

Reports are uploaded to the SSH patient portal and the mobile app. A printed copy is available for collection if you prefer.
