Donation
In Love, Serve One Another.
Since 1885, St. Stephen’s has cared for the sick and suffering — including those who cannot pay for it. Your donation helps that work continue.
St. Stephen’s Hospital grew out of the Delhi Female Medical Mission, begun in 1867 – the first women’s medical mission in India. What started with one Englishwoman, Priscilla Winter, distributing simple medicines on the banks of the Yamuna became, by 1885, a hospital for women and children in Chandni Chowk. From there it grew with the needs of those it served: a larger hospital at Tis Hazari in 1909, and in time a modern general hospital. Through every stage, the work was carried by a long line of committed doctors and nurses. Among them were Dr. Jenny Muller, Sister Alice Wilkinson, and Dr. Lucy Oommen, the hospital’s first Indian director and a recipient of the Padma Shri award. The philosophy of service and compassion that moved them remains the motivating force of the hospital today. St. Stephen’s has been part of countless lives for well over a century. Whoever you are, your donation keeps that work going.
DONATION
Donate to St. Stephen's
St. Stephen’s has always cared for everyone who comes through its doors, including those who arrive with nothing. That has been true from the beginning, and it is only possible with support. Your donation funds free and subsidised treatment for patients who cannot afford care, and community health work in underserved neighbourhoods. What you donate keeps St. Stephen’s doing what it has done for well over a century: caring for the sick and suffering, without exception.
Some who donate were born here, or trained here, or were cared for here when it mattered most. Others have no connection to the hospital at all. The donation is the same, and so is the work it does.
