Endocrinology

The Department of Endocrinology at St. Stephen’s Hospital cares for disorders of the body’s hormone-producing glands. Our team brings together qualified specialists dedicated to improving outcomes in diabetes, thyroid disease, and other endocrine conditions through accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and long-term follow-up.

Hormonal conditions are often lifelong, and good control depends as much on the patient’s understanding as on the prescription. We take time to explain what is happening, set realistic goals, and adjust treatment as life changes because diabetes and thyroid care, done well, is a partnership over years, not a single visit.

Conditions we treat

  • Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Pre-diabetes and metabolic syndrome
  • Thyroid disorders — underactive, overactive, nodules, goitre
  • Obesity and weight-related metabolic disorders
  • Osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Pituitary and adrenal gland disorders
  • Disorders of growth and puberty
  • Calcium and vitamin D disorders
  • Hormonal causes of infertility (in coordination with other departments)
